Frequently Asked Questions

Cyber Club is a community-based platform for independent film and media.  Kind of like a Bandcamp for independent media with elements of LinkedIn for networking, and a Netflix-style experience for sharing and distributing works.  Members retain 100% ownership and control of their submitted media and can delete files at any time.

Cyber Club is different than showcasing work on other platforms like YouTube or Vimeo for multiple reasons.  First, we are a community-based organization focused on independent media and collaboration to provide richer engagement and connection with other filmmakers and fans of independent media.  We combine an easy to use Netflx-style environment with self-managed content and tools for networking and collaboration.  And absolutely zero algorithms, feeds, or other controls dictating what members watch. Just content focused on entertainment, education, and storytelling.  No viral videos or influencers.

Cyber Club accepts videos in MP4 format (MPEG) for entertainment, education, and documentary, as well as music videos and audiobooks.  We accept original short films, features, and short-form video.  Videos must be owned by the submitter and free of material that violates the copyright of other parties.  Video must meet community standards and be approved before going live.  We do not accept pornographic (aka adult) films or overtly offensive material, racist, fascist, or political rants.

Profile Image: Your profile image can be a photo, logo, or other avatar.  It is displayed at the top center of your profile page. If you do not have an image, a monogram of your initials will be used by default.

Format: Square image format. Resolution up to 2000px x 2000px in JPEG, WEBP, or PNG format. RGB Color Profile.

Profile Bio: Your profile description or bio will appear in paragraph form below you profile picture and name, on your profile page.

Specs: Enter your unformatted description text to let members know a little bit about yourself and your work.  The tone is up to you, but make sure not to "overshare" or add any details that should not be publicly disclosed.  We recommend about 600 to 1,000 words in clean, space paragraph format rather than a single text block.

Video Specs: We only accept MPEG format video up to 1 Gigabyte per file.  We recommend 1080p HD resolution. Please Note: ProRes or .MOV files will not be accepted.

Thumbnails: Upon upload and acceptance, a thumbnail image will be automatically generated for your video.  The thumbnail can be replaced in the video library by editing the video's details and uploading a landscape jpeg file, such as a frame capture, or using the thumbnail generator tool to select a specific frame of the video for the thumbnail.
